SCHOOL BACKPACK PROGRAM 2012 A SUCCESS!

On Sunday, August 19, 2012,at Emeline Park, Haverstraw, New York, the Rotary Club of North Rockland joined with Haverstraw Holiday Meal Committee (with Emily Dominguez) and Temple Beth Sholom presented Back-to-School Backpacks to the community. The event was attended by over 700 residents and over 400 backpacks were distributed to the children. Volunteers donated time, food, supplies and monetary donations. UNION RESTAURANT, Bar Latino & Antoine McGuirre's not only volunteered food and drinks, but they cooked all afternoon.  The children played, received many gifts and school supplies for the upcoming school year.
